Hot American actress and indie pop star Zooey Deschanel will perform the national anthem at Game 4 of the Major League Baseball seven-game series between the St. Louis Cardinals and the Texas Rangers. It's a busy fall for Deschanel. Her new Fox sitcom, "New Girl," is earning solid ratings and it is also performing in this new World Series. The MLB made the announcement on Twitter, saying:
“Trace Adkins, Ronnie Dunn & Zooey Deschanel to perform national anthem prior to #WorldSeries Games 2 through 4, respectively, on @MLBONFOX.”
American Idol star Scotty McCreery had the job of singing national anthem in game one. Deschanel, who sings in the pop group, "She & Him" with M. Ward, will also be releasing a Christmas album. Deschanel fans have been calling for a Christmas album since Zooey’s sang “Baby It’s Cold Outside” with Will Farrel in Elf. The Game 4 will be aired on Sunday on Fox.
